Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett, founder of Pink Floyd, dies at age 60.
To paraphrase another dearly departed influence of mine, the music that Syd made (and even moreso, the music that he inspired) illuminated and watered the lives of many people whose lives might otherwise have been darker and drier...including my own. For that, he has my eternal gratitude.
